KOR Courtesy Visit to the Philippine Ambassador to Saudi Arabia

Members of the Knights of Rizal Central Region Chapter in Riyadh led by its Chapter Commander Sir Rey Cardino KOR together with the members of Board of Trustees (BOT) and Council of Elders (COE) recently paid a meaningful courtesy visit to the Philippine Ambassador at the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on February 12, 2026, reaffirming their commitment to upholding the ideals and legacy of Dr. José Rizal among Filipinos abroad. The BOT members present are Deputy Chapter Commander Sir Rudy Argel, Chapter Chancellor Sir James Sedanto, Chapter Exchequer Sir Romel Aguas, Chapter Auditor Sir Julius Salamanca and Chapter Deputy Exchequer Sir Joseph Artap. The COE members are Sir Ronie Ulip KGOR, Sir Rene Layug KGOR, Sir Oliver Cayetano KCR, and Sir Resty De Jesus KCR. The new knights are Sir Benjamin Santuyo, Sir Jerald Solis, Sir Mark Paccalagan, Sir Marjo Survisor and Sir Amado Sacadio.

The delegation was warmly received by the Ambassador His Excellency Raymond R. Balatbat and the Third Secretary and Vice Consul Sir Aldrick Joseph M. Timbol, who expressed appreciation for the Order’s continued dedication to promoting patriotism, cultural heritage, and civic responsibility within the Filipino community in the Kingdom. The meeting provided an opportunity for the Knights to share their ongoing programs and initiatives, particularly those aimed at engaging the youth and strengthening awareness of Rizal’s life and works.

A highlight of the visit was the presentation of a special portrait of Dr. José Rizal, artistically crafted by Sir Marjo. The artwork, meticulously created, symbolized not only the enduring legacy of the national hero but also the creativity and talent of Filipinos overseas. The Knights formally handed over the portrait to the Ambassador as a gesture of respect, unity, and cultural pride.

In response, the Ambassador commended the Knights of Rizal for their unwavering efforts in preserving and promoting Filipino values, noting that such initiatives contribute significantly to strengthening national identity even beyond Philippine shores. Both parties discussed potential collaborations, including cultural events, commemorative activities, and community outreach programs to further engage Filipinos in Saudi Arabia.

The courtesy visit concluded with the exchange of pleasantries and a commemorative photo session, marking the occasion as a testament to shared ideals, cooperation, and the enduring relevance of Rizal’s teachings in today’s global Filipino community.
