Artificial Grass Donation in Bahay Kalinga 1
The Knights of Rizal Central Region Chapter (CRC) in Riyadh have taken a significant step towards improving the recreational facilities of Bahay Kalinga 1 by donating and installing artificial grass on its playground. This initiative aims to provide a safer, more durable surface for volleyball and other sports activities, replacing the previously worn-out grass. The upgraded facility not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the playground but also ensures better usability for the residents.
Bahay Kalinga 1 currently shelters around 150 OFWs who are awaiting repatriation to the Philippines. Recognising the importance of a conducive environment for recreation and well-being, the Knights of Rizal CRC, under the leadership of Chapter Commander Sir Reynaldo Cardino and with the guidance of the Council of Elders, prioritised this project. These efforts reflect the Order’s dedication to fostering patriotism and promoting the welfare of the less fortunate.
The project was spearheaded by Sir Michael T. Lopez, with support from Sir Redentor Perez, Sir Arnold Dela Cruz and Sir Danilo Encinas. Funding was provided by the Knights of Rizal CRC’s Board of Trustees, Council of Elders and Prefectural Tribunal.
Through this generous gesture, the Knights of Rizal have strengthened the sense of community and provided Bahay Kalinga residents with a safe and uplifting space for physical activities and social interaction.
