27th Anniversary and Commander’s Ball

The spirit of patriotism, unity, service, and fellowship filled the halls of the Executive Hotel Riyadh on September 25, 2026, as the Knights of Rizal Central Region Chapter (CRC), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, celebrated its Commanders’ Ball and 27th Anniversary in a memorable gathering of Filipino leaders, organizations, associations, businesses, government representatives, and members of the Filipino community.
The celebration marked another significant milestone in the history of the Central Region Chapter, reflecting 27 years of commitment to the ideals of Dr. José P. Rizal and to the promotion of patriotism, civic responsibility, service, education, integrity, and love of country among Filipinos in the Kingdom.
More than an anniversary celebration, the Commanders’ Ball served as a gathering of people united by a common purpose: to keep alive the values and ideals of Rizal and to translate those ideals into meaningful action within the Filipino community.

The memorable occasion was spearheaded by the Knights of Rizal Central Region Chapter KSA under the leadership of Chapter Commander Sir Reynaldo C. Cardino, KCR, together with the Board of Trustees, Council of Elders, Prefectural Tribunal, and the dedicated members of the Order of the Knights of Rizal.
Joining them in making the celebration meaningful were the members of Las Damas de Rizal and the Kabataang Pangarap ni Rizal, representing the important role of women and the younger generation in carrying forward the ideals of Dr. Rizal.
Philippine Embassy Officials Grace the Occasion
The Commanders’ Ball was further honored by the presence of distinguished officials from the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh headed by First Secretary and Consul Sir Dean Jason N. Arriola, KOR and Third Secretary and Vice Consul Sir Aldrick Timbol, KOR.
Also present were Labor Attaché Sir Atty. Dominador Salanga of the Migrant Workers Office and Police Attaché Col. Virgilio Viloria. Their presence highlighted the strong and continuing partnership between the Philippine government and the Knights of Rizal in promoting the welfare and interests of Filipinos overseas. It also underscored the importance of cooperation between government institutions and Filipino community organizations in fostering patriotism, civic responsibility, unity, and the values of Rizalianism among Filipinos living and working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Messages of Support from Rizalian Leaders
Adding further significance to the celebration was a special video message and greetings from Regional Commander Sir Dr. Jose P. Villanueva, KCR. His message conveyed his warm congratulations to the Central Region Chapter on its 27th anniversary and his encouragement for the members to remain steadfast in promoting the ideals of Dr. José Rizal through service, leadership, and community involvement.
The event was also honored by the presence of Area Commander Sir Ricky M. Piquing, KCR, whose participation strengthened the spirit of fellowship and unity among the Knights and their supporters. The presence and messages of Rizalian leaders from the regional and area levels demonstrated the interconnectedness of the organization and the shared responsibility of its members to preserve and advance the mission of the Order.
The Purpose Behind the Commanders’ Ball and the 27th Anniversary Celebration
At the heart of the Commanders’ Ball was a meaningful objective: to encourage the Filipino community to continue being paragons of Rizalian values, both in their individual capacities and in their respective organizations, associations, and institutions. The ideals of Dr. Rizal remain particularly relevant to Filipinos living and working overseas. In a foreign land, every Filipino becomes an ambassador of the Philippines. Their conduct, integrity, professionalism, compassion, and respect for others contribute to how the Filipino nation is seen and remembered.
One of the most significant aspects of the Commanders’ Ball was the broad participation of the Filipino community in Riyadh and other parts of the region. The event brought together tens of Filipino community members representing various Philippine organizations, associations and professional networks. The presence of these organizations and community leaders demonstrated that the ideals of Dr. Rizal continue to resonate among Filipinos overseas. It also showed that meaningful community development becomes possible when individuals and organizations set aside differences and work together toward common objectives. The gathering was, in many ways, a celebration of Filipino solidarity.
As part of the celebration, participating Filipino organizations and associations were presented with Certificates of Appreciation in recognition of their valuable support and participation. The recognition was more than a ceremonial gesture. It was an expression of gratitude for the organizations and individuals who continuously contribute to the strength and vibrancy of the Filipino community.
The Central Region Chapter’s 27th anniversary represents not only the longevity of an organization but also the continuing relevance of Rizal’s vision. For 27 years, the Chapter has been part of the continuing effort to preserve Filipino identity, promote community engagement, and inspire Filipinos in Saudi Arabia to become responsible, productive, and compassionate members of society.
