Skills Training Program: Isang Gunting sa Kinabukasan

A meaningful Skills Training Program: Isang Gunting sa Kinabukasan was recently conducted for the wards of Bahay Kalinga under Department of Migrant Workers Administration in two separate days on February 6 and 12, 2026, The aim of the training is to equip them with practical knowledge and empowering them toward self-reliance and personal development.

The initiative was organized by the Knights of Rizal – Central Region Chapter and spearheaded by its Chapter Commander Sir Rey Cardino in line with their commitment to community service and the promotion of humanitarian values inspired by Dr. José Rizal.

There are 9 trained ward participants out of 70 wards who had free haircut and hairstyling. The activity featured hands-on sessions designed to develop useful skills that the wards can apply in their daily lives and future livelihood opportunities. Beyond technical learning, the program also fostered confidence, discipline, and a sense of purpose among the participants.

Representatives from DMW expressed their gratitude to the Knights of Rizal and the partner organization for bringing meaningful and impactful programs to Bahay Kalinga. They emphasized the importance of such initiatives in supporting the rehabilitation and reintegration of the wards.

Through this collaborative effort, the Knights of Rizal – Central Region Chapter once again demonstrated their dedication to service, compassion, and nation-building, even beyond Philippine borders. The event concluded with a simple closing program and the awarding of certificates, marking a significant step in the participants’ journey toward empowerment and hope for a better future.
